This Platform is Not an Emergency Service
Connect Therapies is not an emergency service and must not be used in place of urgent or emergency medical care.
If you or someone you are with is experiencing a medical emergency, call the relevant emergency services immediately (112 in India, 999 in the UK, or your local equivalent).
Do not use this platform to seek help for any situation that requires immediate medical attention.
When to Seek Urgent Medical Help
You should not use this platform and should seek urgent or emergency medical care immediately if you or the person you are supporting experiences any of the following:
- Sudden weakness, numbness, or paralysis in the face, arm, or leg — especially on one side of the body
- Sudden difficulty speaking, understanding speech, or slurred speech
- Sudden severe headache with no known cause
- Chest pain, tightness, or pressure
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath at rest
- A fall resulting in a head injury, suspected fracture, or inability to bear weight
- Rapid deterioration in consciousness or responsiveness
- Signs of stroke (use FAST: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call emergency services)
- Severe or uncontrolled pain
- Fever with stiff neck, sensitivity to light, or confusion
- Any symptom that is rapidly worsening or that you believe requires immediate attention
This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether your situation is an emergency, err on the side of caution and call emergency services or attend your nearest A&E or emergency department.
Limitations of Online Rehabilitation Support
Online and hybrid rehabilitation support is not suitable for every condition or situation. In particular:
- It is not a substitute for hands-on clinical assessment or treatment where that is clinically indicated
- It cannot replace in-person emergency or acute care
- It may not be appropriate for individuals with conditions requiring physical handling, manual therapy, or close clinical supervision
- It is not a substitute for a GP, specialist, or hospital referral where one is needed
If you are unsure whether online rehabilitation support is appropriate for your situation, please consult your GP or a relevant medical professional before registering.
